Catina Aghayan, Quality & Development Consultant, Qatar Post, In preparation for the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) Global Monitoring System (GMS), Qatar General Postal Corporation, in partnership with Emirates and Saudi Post recently completed the implementation of a RFID technology project aimed at improving the overall mail services in the region and the globe. CNME’s Manda Banda, chatted to Catina Aghayan, Quality & Development Consultant at Qatar Post, to find out what the implementation of this project means to postal services in the Middle East region.

To keep pace with its ambitious expansion plans, Pan Emirates has commissioned EMW, a supplier of services and products in the telecommunication, ICT, Engineering and Project Management sector, to upgrade its IP Telephony systems at the head office in Sharjah, UAE to one of the latest Avaya platforms. This will greatly increase system availability and enhance communication between the various branches and head office. The contract also includes installation of smart mobile technology at two new branches to support the warehouse management system and product tracking.

As more transport utility companies and parastatal organisations around the global are turning to technology to best manage their transport networks and infrastructure, the Dubai Road Transport Authority (RTA) partnered with the YMS Group that implemented its yTraffic solution in the Emirate. The project dubbed Dalili has changed the way the RTA manages and provides traffic information to motorists.
